The Grand National final is the centrepiece of a tasty looking card at Wimbledon on Tuesday, the action starts at 7:30pm on Sky Sports Xtra. As well as the main event there are a some real Derby contenders being put through their paces at the Plough Lane circuit and as a bonus Sky will also be showing the Blue Riband semi-finals from Hall Green.
Speed Figs
T2 - Smooth Turbo 100
T3 - Kildare Lark 93
T5 - Eye Onthe Flame 86+
T1 - Be All 85
T6 - Call Again 83
T4 - Morell Warrior 78
A tight looking contest on the figures with less than three lengths covering the whole field. Smooth Turbo heads the list after his semi-final defeat of 2007 Hurdler of the Year Kildare Lark. If he starts in his usual fashion and clears the red jacketed Be All (who has a tendancy to move middle) then a repeat of the semi's could be on.
I'm already on Smooth Turbo at 50/1 and he's now a best priced 3/1 which is a fair price. Kildare Lark is definately a danger but at 2/1 or shorter he doesn't make any appeal. Eye Onthe Flame is capable of improvement and the 8/1 looks decent value, he would be worth considering as a cheap buy on the spreads but overall I'm happy to leave the race alone and hope that Smooth Turbo makes the first four at least.
You were out of luck last night, but at least Loyal Honcho made the frame for you on Saturday.
I gave out two big ones last night - first tips on my new blog!
