Thought the Colts were gonna p!ss it after the first quarter but Houston came back well, penalties killed them but they are not far away from being a decent side.

When the Cards are good they are very good, Bears are over-rated, missed a bet on the Falcons which would've made things a bit better ... hoping the Broncos can do the business tonight!

Unlucky there Edwin.

Looking at the heats it would appear that a replacement for Seamies Gambler was allowed in which I am surprises me slighty as this could affect the antepost market. That said I would guess by the fact that the reserve wasn't deemed good enough for the original entry then it would be one of the rank outsiders ... I'm afraid that's the only explanation I can think of.

SkyBet, On Sunday 01 November I placed a bet on Seamies Gambler with SkyBet. Most firms were laying 33/1 but SkyBet were out in front at 66/1, not a bad each way bet for a dog that got to the semis of the Wimbledon St. Ledger.

Wow, on Tuesday 03 November all other firms had removed Seamies Gambler from their lists. Sky were still laying it as confirmed when I telephoned them. Having been transferred to their customer services I was informed that the Dog was withdrawn yesterday. OK Bad luck, that is what ante-post is all about.

Begs a few questions ??????????????? Not least is there a reserve runner ? If yes what about the ante-post market.

Jets & Pats is an interesting match up. The Jets have been supported and the best price for them is now +5 which is still resonable value. I've found Pats games difficult to handicap the last few years, teams have often looked value against them but when Brady starts slinging it about things can get silly ... I think I'm hung up about them too having laid the perfect season!

Giants at the Cowboys should be a good game and a very close call. If pushed I'd be with you on the Giants straight up, you can get 13/10 with Bet365, Hills and Laddies.

I'm trying to keep the stakes up but be a tad more selective ... its not working very well though!

The dogs are going alright, I need to fix the problems on the gee gees and then see how the NFL goes. I've a few antepost thoughts for the season so will try and post them up soon.

I might start keeping some footie stats but although I would've watched 22 wheelie bins have a kick about years ago I have lost a lot of interest in footie. Unless some outstanding value crops up I don't think I'll get involved.

The NFL is great stuff, I've had some punting success in the past and did OK trading the Superbowl market last year. I'm gonna make my own lines this year and see how it goes. I think individual game handicapping is tough but I'll give it a go to small stakes.

'Bet what you know' is always good advice and you know the dogs so stick with it :-)

I need to vastly improve my football wits if i am to play again on the beautiful game, the tennis experiment went awfully wrong - although I love tennis in general.

Im looking forward to NFL with a passion tbh.

Up on the lays, down (slightly) on the back, I think I'm gonna drop the 'back' for a while and just keep records. I'll stick with the lays but could do with finding a few more or upping the stakes.

I'm not an action junkie but am spending a lot of time finding no bets ... the other day I was so bored I starting doing numbers for the NFL ... in July!

LOL ... I've made something pretty simple sound complicated!

Basically, when I've found a short 'un to lay I'm looking to back the second and third favourites against it. I think (hope!) this adds to the profits from a simple lay.

Always pays to think about what's going wrong ... or right.

The Sky cards are the best place to back dogs due to the early prices and there's plenty of action on the exchanges for a layer too.

When laying you are effectively backing the rest of the field, it may be that you don't fancy all the opposition so sometimes it can pay to back a couple of dogs against your 'lay' rather than actually laying it.
