Betfred Eclipse Heats

The Eclipse kicks off at Nottingham this evening and the heats can be seen on the bookmakers BEGS broadcast.

A couple of dogs look overpriced tonight to me. First up is Pat Rosney's Windy Millar (T3 21:07) who is available at 4/1 with Coral. Pat's son of Honcho Classic has had his problems with injury but he is a classy dog when on form at he looks worth chancing at the price.

Julie Bateson's Ardkill Tunoco (T6) is a good competition dog and he can expose any ring rustiness in Fear Zafonic when the pair clash in the final qualifier (21:22). Stan James offer the best price of 5/1 and that's worth taking.

NFL Week 10

Some good games this week, the Steelers / Bengals game on Sky and the Patriots taking on the Colts looking the pick of 'em.

For a wager though I'm going with the Jets (-6.5), Saints (-13.5) and Eagles (+2.5). I think the Chiefs are worth a look but I've been doing money on games with bad teams so will leave alone.

It's the final of the All England Cup this evening at Newcastle, all the action is live on Sky Sports 3 from 7:30 pm.

NFL Week 8

Some good match-ups in week 8 and I'm looking forward to the Vikings/Packers game on Sky this evening.

From a betting point I fancy two favourites to cover in New Orleans (-10) and Detroit (-3). The latter bet will depend on the fitness of Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Calvin Johnson.

For those looking for 'dogs to back then the Bronco's, Jags and Vikings are all worth a second look.

The All England Cup starts this evening at Newcastle with six first round heats.

Ardkill Tunoco goes in the opener at 18:56 and if back to his best after a lay off he's a steal at the 6/4 put up by Bet365.

Mark Wallis' cracking year continued with St Leger success on Tuesday and his Eye Onthe Flash is worth a look in heat 2 at 5/1 with Befred or Stan James.

I'm also going to have a little in the outright market on Ardkill Tunoco at 12/1 with various firms and Ginas Boy at 66/1 with Skybet.

The final of the IGB National 750 takes place on Saturday night at Shelbourne Park and Tyrur Chris looks a bit of value to land the spoils.

Only just caught by Ferdia Bound in the semi's Paul Hennessy's charge was second quickest on the night. He's available at 8/1 with Stan James and that's too big a price about him getting home in front.

Cashman's Irish Laurels

It's the Irish Laurels tonight at Cork and I fancy Oran Classic to go one better than in the Derby a few weeks back. The 7/4 on offer looks about right though and for a bit of value I'm going to go with Tyrur Giovanni who is available at 10/1 with Stan James.

Pat Buckley's son of Premier Fantasy is capable of going well if in the sort of form that saw him beat Faypoint Man in the third round of the Derby posting a lively 29.45 in the process. In that sort of nick he is no 10/1 poke.

Friday Fight Night

Michael Hunter takes on Jason Booth on Friday Fight Night this evening for the British Super Bantamweight title.

Booth is the holder and favourite with the bookies but Hunter has held British and European titles and fought for the IBF World belt, the latter being his only defeat.

Hunter took that defeat hard and questioned his future in the game but being made the mandatory challenger for Booth's title has rekindled his enthusiasm and he fancies the job tonight.

I'm backing Hunter to outclass Booth and the 13/2 offered by Sporting Bet about him winning inside the distance looks a bit of value.
